Survival Mode features a litany of changes to the game that fundamentally alter how a player experiences the world of Skyrim. Survival Mode is tough, but in the end, the struggle makes Skyrim a much more rewarding experience. There are some practices a player can get into that help alleviate some of this stress, though, like keeping an eye out for certain crafting materials and cooking ingredients or leveling Restoration to substitute for fewer healing options. Rather than fast traveling all over the place, taking damage that can be healed by waiting, and generally avoiding all the RPG elements that the game has to offer, Survival Mode forces players to adapt to a much more unforgiving world.
